Traditional flashcard apps require you to manually create cards or import pre-made decks. But the best vocabulary comes from content you actually care about.
The Context Problem
Learning "木" means "tree" in isolation is very different from encountering it naturally while reading a story about a forest, or seeing "木曜日" (Thursday) in a game's calendar system. Without context, words become abstract symbols rather than living parts of a language.
We solve this by letting games generate your flashcards automatically. Play in your target language, and every new word you encounter becomes a card complete with the context of where you found it.
How Our Plugins Work
Our game plugins run alongside your game and capture text as it appears on screen.
1. Text Capture
The plugin hooks into the game client and captures NPC dialogue, item names, quest text, and UI elements.
2. Language Detection
We detect the language of captured text and filter out duplicates or content you have already seen.
3. Card Creation
New vocabulary is sent to your Language Games deck via our API, with context about where it appeared.
4. FSRS Scheduling
Cards are scheduled using the FSRS algorithm so you review them at the optimal time for retention.

Old School RuneScape (RuneLite)

Works with Retail and Classic. Captures quests, items, and dialogue. Available on CurseForge.

The Complete Workflow
Here is how a typical learning session looks:
- Change your game language to your target language
- Install our plugin and connect it to your Language Games account
- Play normally. The plugin captures new vocabulary automatically.
- After your gaming session, open Language Games and review your new cards
- The FSRS algorithm schedules future reviews at optimal intervals
- Next time you see those words in-game, you will recognize them
The key is that learning happens in the background. You are not stopping to study. You are playing a game you enjoy, and building vocabulary as a natural side effect.
