Anki Compatible: 100% .apkg Support

100% Anki Compatible

We love Anki. We built Language Games to be fully compatible with .apkg files—because your years of learning should never be locked in.

Why Data Portability Matters

If you've spent years building flashcard decks, you know how valuable that collection is. Some learners have 10,000+ cards representing hundreds of hours of work. We believe that data belongs to you.

Many flashcard apps trap your content. They offer import but not export. Or they use proprietary formats. Language Games takes a different approach: we use Anki's .apkg format as our standard, so you can always take your cards with you.

Seamless Import & Export

Import Any .apkg

Drag and drop your Anki decks. We handle files up to 100MB+ with client-side processing. Your scheduling data, media, and card content all transfer intact.

Export Anytime

Changed your mind? Export your deck back to .apkg format with one click. Your reviews, intervals, and scheduling history are preserved.

Technical note: We convert Anki's SM-2 intervals to FSRS stability using a 0.61 factor to account for different retention targets (Anki's 85% vs our 90% default).

But Anki Is Lonely

Anki is powerful, but it's a solo experience. Research shows that social accountability dramatically improves learning outcomes. Study groups, friendly competition, and shared goals keep you motivated when willpower fades.

Study Groups

Form groups with friends or classmates. Set daily goals. See who's online and studying right now.

Leaderboards

Compete on global leaderboards. Track your ELO rating as you master increasingly difficult content.

AI Conversations

Practice speaking with AI tutors. Get real-time feedback and build confidence before talking to natives.
